Fergie found success with her multi-platinum 2006 solo debut The Dutchess, but a sophomore album isn’t in the cards anytime soon. Coming off one of 2010’s highest-grossing tours and the recent release of the Black Eyed Peas’ album The Beginning, the group’s femme fatale is planning to focus on another tour and life at home with her husband.
“I think we’ve been going pretty hard with [The E.N.D. and The Beginning] and I think she probably wants to take a break,” BEP’s apl.de.ap tells staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud. “When I hang out with her, she’s like, ‘You know, I’m going to take some time for myself and do some me time, do some girl stuff and [spend time with] my husband [Josh Duhamel].'”
Before she slows down, Fergie, will.i.am, apl, and Taboo will venture on an international tour, which they’ll approach “smarter” than before. “We’re probably not going to be doing that many shows, but we’re going to be picking the right ones to do,” explains apl, who reveals he wants Empire of the Sun or Kings of Leon as their opening act. “We’re definitely going to go to Asia and do a couple of the festivals back in Europe.”
The Black Eyed Peas will reach a career milestone when they perform during the halftime show at next year’s Super Bowl in Texas, joining the company of previous headliners Prince and the Rolling Stones.
