Having recently performed his classic album Doggystyle in its entirety at this year’s Rock the Bells Festival, Snoop Dogg is feeling inspired. The Doggfather was posted up in the studio this week laying down tracks with super-producer Swizz Beatz for his new album Doggystyle 2: The Doggumentary, the sequel to his groundbreaking 1993 debut.
“[Swizz] just laced my boots up for my new record,” Snoop said in a video posted online, noting that Swizzy had provided him with a staggering 18 beats. “Motherfu**er gave me some gangsta shit, some Crips shit, some R&B shit, some hip-hop shit, some hard shit, mean shit.”
“The album is Doggystyle 2: The Doggumentary,” he revealed. “Be on the lookout for it, you bitch.”
His last album, Malice N Wonderland, was released in December 2009, accounting for his lowest first-week sales ever. He re-released the album under the banner More Malice in March 2010, selling more than 40,000 copies to date.
Snoop was also recently in the lab with Kanye West and tweeted a photo, seen below.
