Nelly’s done it all—rapping, acting, fashion—and now he’s adding a new job to his résumé, radio host. The hip-hop star will take over his hometown airwaves starting today.
St. Louis residents can tune in to hear their hometown boy weekdays between 3-7 p.m. on Hot 104.1 (WHHL-FM). Nelly becomes the radio station’s newest on-air personality for the afternoon drive.
“We are thrilled to have the man who put St. Louis hip-hop on the map joining our team,” WHHL executives said in a statement. “We look forward to the kind of show only a star of this magnitude can bring to St. Louis.”
But don’t think Nelly has given up his day job. He’s temporarily filling in for radio host Staci Static, who is on maternity leave. Station executives expect Nelly’s on-air run to last for about a month.
You can bet the rapper will be playing material from his new album 5.0, due November 16, including the singles “Tippin’ in da Club” and “Just a Dream.”
