Kid Cudi and Jason Derulo

Kid Cudi’s supporting stint on Lady Gaga’s “Monster Ball” tour has come to an end. The “Day ‘N’ Nite” rapper announced that he is pulling out of the tour due to time conflicts.

In a statement released on Wednesday (Dec. 16), he explained his departure. “Kid Cudi has decided to take an early leave of absence from Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball tour, in order to balance his schedule surrounding the recording of his next album and acting commitments. Cudi does not want to disappoint his fans and will move forward with his individual show dates in December and throughout the month of January.”

But Cudi’s actions may have had something to do with his early exit. At a show in Vancouver over the weekend, he reacted after a fan threw a wallet onstage. Cudi threw it back into the audience, but it was returned after another fan mistakenly caught it. Cudi then went into the crowd and appeared to punch the wrong fan who threw the wallet.

“Whatcha Say” hitmaker Jason Derulo, who was one of the tour’s opening acts, will take over Cudi’s 30-minute slot. “Just found out that I’m not opening 4 GAGA anymore, I’m now the MAIN SUPPORTER!!! Get Ready!!!” Derulo tweeted. “Initially I was opening 4 GAGA with a 20 min set. Now I have a half an hour on stage AFTER the opening act. A ‘Full Set’!!!”
