Mya is dancing her way onto the new season of “Dancing with the Stars.”

The R&B singer is among the celebrities who will hit the dance floor on Season 9 of TV’s second highest-rated series. Other contestants include Macy Gray, Aaron Carter, Natalie Coughlin, Mark Dacascos, Tom DeLay, Ashley Hamilton, Melissa Joan Hart, Kathy Ireland, Michael Irvin, Joanna Krupa, Chuck Liddell, Debi Mazar, Kelly Osbourne, Donny Osmond, and Louie Vito.

“I’ve always wanted to be on the show. My mother [Theresa] and I are both fans,” says Mya, 30. “I’ve done tap dancing and hip-hop, but never done work with a partner. This will definitely be a challenge.”

Mya’s fourth and fifth studio albums, Liberation and Sugar & Spice, have been released in Japan, and her sixth studio album is due to be released on her independent label.

The new season of “Dancing with the Stars” premieres Monday, September 21, at 8 p.m. on ABC.
