Jordin Sparks is preparing to wage an all-out war when her sophomore album Battlefield ships out July 21.
Battlefield features contributions from T-Pain, Dr. Luke, Ryan Tedder, Stargate, and more. A video for the Tedder-produced title track was recently shot in California with director Philip Andelman.
“To me, the title Battlefield is about strength and perseverance,” explains the “American Idol” winner. “Things can go from good to bad in an instant, it could be family, friendship, or work; and my favorite line in the song is, ‘you better go and get your armor,’ because it’s telling you to be prepared for that time so that you can overcome it.”
“Battlefield” is the No. 1 most-added song at pop radio, according to industry monitoring service Mediabase. Jordin recently debuted the first single on “American Idol.”
The 19-year-old pop star will join the Jonas Brothers on the North American leg of their 52-date world tour, which kicks off June 20 in Dallas, Tex.
