Anyone born from Aug. 23 to Sept. 22 falls under the Virgo zodiac sign, which boasts a roster of incredibly talented rappers.

“I’m [a] Virgo. We overanalyze, and we’re never satisfied, so I’m [going to] keep going [until] the wheels fall off,” Wale once said in a conversation with Interview Magazine. Those under the Earth sign generally lean into perfectionism, which is likely why fans don’t get albums from the below-mentioned artists each year — or even more often than that. On the other end of the spectrum, Virgos' drive to be the greatest can sometimes lead to harsh self-criticism and even insecurity, but it all comes from wanting to put their best foot forward.

With Virgo season well underway, Rap-Up compiled a list of 11 rappers who perfectly embody their sign. From real spitters like Cordae to pioneers like Playboi Carti, check out the list below.

1. Lil Yachty

Lil Yachty is often considered a leader of the new school, rising to triumph with “One Night” and “Minnesota.” Born at the top of Virgo season — Aug. 23, 1997 — the Georgia-raised rap star boasts the zodiac sign’s hardworking and artistic traits. Starting with early projects like Lil Boat and Teenage Emotions, his career has seen many experimental phases, especially with the psychedelic rock-inspired Let’s Start Here.

It’s worth mentioning that Lil Yachty teamed up with fellow Earth sign Lil Tecca on 2021’s “Virgo World,” where he rapped, “It's a Virgo world for real, play with my name, we'll send this b**ch up.”

2. Rod Wave

Like a true Virgo, Florida’s own Rod Wave admits to being an overthinker, constantly placing intense pressure on himself. From reminiscing in “Heart On Ice” to pondering life’s end in “Tombstone,” the soul-trap pioneer’s reflective nature shines through his music. Born on Aug. 27, 1998, he has touched millions of fans’ hearts since taking over the industry.

3. Cordae

Born on Aug. 26, 1997, Cordae is a one-of-a-kind lyricist. His music fills a gap that many Hip Hop fans crave. As part of YBN under the name YBN Cordae, the North Carolina native introduced himself to the world with remixes such as “My Name Is” and “Old N**gas.” Though he would later drop the collective from his moniker, the North Carolina MC’s first studio album, The Lost Boy, boasted the J. Cole-produced “RNP” and “Bad Idea” featuring Chance the Rapper. Ever since then, Cordae has been putting his Virgo excellence on full display.

4. Playboi Carti

Often hailed as the SoundCloud era’s godfather, Playboi Carti’s influence is apparent throughout contemporary Hip Hop. His gift for nailing just about anything he tries fits perfectly with the logical and observant nature of Virgos. The Atlanta rapper’s contributions to the genre include “wokeuplikethis*,” “Shoota” and the mega-successful “Magnolia.”

5. 2 Chainz

When it comes to celebrating your birthday in style, not much rises above pressing play on 2 Chainz’s “Birthday Song” featuring Ye. Despite a later start in his career compared to some of his colleagues, the Georgia rapper’s impact and sound are undeniable. Born on Sept. 12, 1977, he spawned hits like “I’m Different,” “No Lie” and “Feds Watching” throughout the 2010s.

6. BossMan Dlow

While BossMan Dlow is a relatively fresh face compared to others on this list, don’t count him out. “Get In With Me” and “Mr Pot Scraper” put the XXL Freshman on the map while collaborations with Sexyy Red, GloRilla, Lil Baby and more cemented his place in Hip Hop. He celebrates his birthday on Aug. 31.

7. Lil Tecca

Born on Aug. 26, 2002, Lil Tecca came into the game with “Ransom,” which served as an entry on his debut project, We Love You Tecca. Fun fact: the deluxe version of the New York star’s We Love You Tecca 2 contains a track titled “VIRGO.”

8. Wiz Khalifa

"I'm a Virgo, so I don't know how to act,” Wiz Khalifa dished out on 2016’s “What You Like” with 24hrs and Ty Dolla Sign. The Pittsburgh-based rapper came into the world on Sept. 8, 1987, then broke into the music industry in the early 2000s with mixtapes like Show And Prove and Grow Season. Today, most fans may know him for “Black and Yellow,” “We Dem Boyz,” or the multi-platinum “See You Again.”

9. Joe Budden

Before his eponymous podcast racked up millions of views, Joe Budden — born on Aug. 31, 1980 —was first and foremost known as an MC. The rapper’s smash hit “Pump It,” which was RIAA-certified Gold two decades later in 2023, boosted his self-titled studio album. He has also appeared on several shows, including “Love & Hip Hop: New York” and Complex’s “Everyday Struggle,” the latter of which helped him become one of today’s most respected culture critics.

10. Wale

Wale is a proud Earth sign. On “Warwick Avenue,” he spat, “Or explain why I'm nothin' but a Cancer to us / When really I'm a Virgo and the truest.” Other records like “Gemini (2 Sides)” and “B**ches Like You” also put his love for astrology front and center. The DMV native was born on Sept. 21, 1984.

11. Moneybagg Yo

As a self-described “Bipolar Virgo,” Moneybagg Yo embodies Virgos’ reserved and analytical nature. Often staying out of drama, the Memphis rapper — who came into the world on Sept. 22, 1991 — sticks to business. “Said Sum,” “Don’t Kno” and “Wockesha” are among his greatest hits.
