Scorpio season is upon us. Represented by the scorpion, the earth sign takes place from Oct. 23 to Nov. 21. People born under the zodiac typically carry traits like loyalty, protectiveness and self-reliance, plus a few negative ones, such as the tendency to be jealous, competitive and obsessive.
Drake, Future and NAV are the perfect examples of Scorpios who highlight their sign’s magnetic nature. In fact, on 2015’s “Over,” the Canadian record producer and rapper spat, “I'm a Scorpio, I'm killing b**ches like the zodiac.” Meanwhile, the self-coined 6 God’s 2006 mixtape, Room for Improvement, housed a song titled “A Scorpio’s Mind.” Among the many more musicians born under the sign include Pooh Shiesty, Dess Dior and Tyga, to name a few. Without further ado, check them out below.
1. Drake
Arguably one of the most decorated rappers of the present time, Drake needs no introduction. The Toronto star gifted fans classics like “The Motto,” “Started From The Bottom” and “Over” in the early 2010s. Eight albums later, he’s still one of the biggest names in Hip Hop. Born on Oct. 24, 1986, Drake’s zodiac sign is referenced in his fifth studio album, 2018’s Scorpion, while his October’s Very Own brand also serves as a nod to the Grammy Award winner’s birthday.
2. Future
Future’s music wouldn’t be the same without Auto-Tune. “I used it to rap because it makes my voice sound grittier,” he told Complex back in 2013. “The people who are taking my style are like my babies. I’ve got a tribe of kids that want to be like me.” In fact, the “Mask Off” hitmaker inspired an entire generation of artists, including Young Thug, Travis Scott, the late Rich Homie Quan and Desiigner.
Born on Nov. 20, 1983, the Atlanta native is a classic Scorpio: self-reliant, competitive and emotional at times. His career spans over 200 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart — “Wait For U,” “Like That” and “Way 2 Sexy” are among his No. 1 his — along with multiple Grammy nods and wins.
3. Pooh Shiesty
Among the few breakout talents to sign with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records, Pooh Shiesty was born on Nov. 8, 1999, in Memphis, Tennessee. He saw massive success with 2020’s “Back in Blood,” while records like “Monday to Sunday,” “Switch it Up” and “Shiesty Summer” further solidified the rapper within the music industry. The Shiesty Season creator went on a massive feature run before being incarcerated in 2021, joining forces with Coi Leray for “BIG PURR (Prrdd),” Lil Durk for “Should’ve Ducked” and SpotemGottem for “Beat Box 2.”
4. Flau'jae
Flau'jae Johnson, born on Nov. 3, 2003, has proved time and time again that she’s a force to be reckoned with, both as a rapper and a star basketball player for Louisiana State University. As the daughter of the late Jason “Camouflage” Johnson, longtime fans might recognize her from the “No Love” artist from “America’s Got Talent” or “The Rap Game” — also where Latto got her start. Meanwhile, more recent bodies of work, such as Best Of Both Worlds, which boasts the Lil Wayne-assisted “Came Out A Beast,” have only proven that Flau’jae is here to stay.
5. NAV
NAV spent a bit of time behind the scenes before stepping into the limelight as a rapper, having co-produced Drake’s “Back To Back” in 2015. Born Nov. 3, 1989, the XO artist’s debut LP, 2016’s The Introduction, welcomed fan favorites such as “Brown Boy 1,” “Fell In Love” and “Myself.” Later that year, NAV teamed up with Scott for “beibs in the trap,” their first of many collaborations. The has since Toronto rapper has shared classic projects like RECKLESS, Bad Habits and Emergency Tsunami, which Wheezy entirely produced.
6. NLE Choppa
For many Hip Hop fans, 2019’s “Shotta Flow” marked their introduction to NLE Choppa, who was just 16 at the time. Born Nov. 1, 2002, the Memphis talent kept up the momentum with more installments of the aforementioned single, along with tracks like “Camelot” and “Walk Em Down” with Roddy Ricch. Alongside his music, the artist has also grown personally. For example, he began advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community after they showed major support for his “SLUT ME OUT 2” release.
7. JID
“Little n**ga put your coat on, your Scorpio showing / I never told her my birthday; it's not even the first date / And then I made it worse that I'm October the 31st,” JID rapped on 2013’s “Creep Inspire.” Funnily enough, at the time, the Dreamville Records signee was playing football at Hampton University on a scholarship before getting kicked out of school. Fast forward to 2017, he released his debut album, The Never Story, under J. Cole’s imprint. Subsequent projects include DiCaprio 2 and The Forever Story, which housed “Off Deez” and the TikTok-viral “Surround Sound,” respectively.
8. Tyga
A Young Money Records heavy hitter, Tyga’s run in the 2010s often gets overlooked. In 2011, he blessed listeners with “Rack City,” followed by tracks like “Molly” featuring Wiz Khalifa, the Young Thug-assisted “Hookah” and “Stimulated.” The Last Kings Records founder’s string of annual solo album releases ended with 2019’s Legendary. It contained “Haute,” “Lightskin Lil Wayne” and “Taste” featuring Offset. Most notably, the last-mentioned track was certified diamond by the RIAA in September 2024. The Compton native then seemingly broke his four-year hiatus in 2023 with Hit Me When U Leave The Klub: The Playlist, a joint project with YG. Tyga celebrates his birthday on Nov. 19.
9. Dess Dior
Besides being a fashion it-girl, Dess Dior began rapping as early as the age of 12. Born on Nov. 2, 1998, the St. Louis, Missouri, native dropped her EP, Definition of Dess, in 2020 and debut album, RAW, in 2022. The "Talk to Me" creator also co-hosts the "Act Normal Podcast" with her childhood best friend and fellow social media star Jayda Cheaves.
10. ScHoolboy Q
Repping Top Dawg Entertainment — also home to fellow Scorpio SZA — ScHoolboy Q is a West Coast veteran with early hits like “Collard Greens,” “Hands on the Wheel” and “Man Of The Year” under his belt. The South Central Los Angeles-based rapper, born on Oct. 26, 1986, has released six albums under the imprint, including Oxymoron and BLUE LIPS, the latter of which he understandably hailed as his best body of work to date.
11. Teezo Touchdown
Though relatively fresh face to most Hip Hop fans, Teezo Touchdown began making music over a decade ago under the moniker Aye Tee. Born on Oct. 31, 1992, the Texas-born talent has earned quite the rep for doing guest appearances. Touchdown previously lent his vocals to the likes of Scott’s “MODERN JAM,” Drake’s “Amen,” Doja Cat’s “MASC,” Don Toliver’s “BACKSTREETS” and many more.
As far as his solo work is concerned, the “Third Coast” rapper unloaded his debut studio album, How Do You Sleep at Night? In 2023. The 14-song collection housed contributions from Fousheé, Isaiah Rusk and Janelle Monáe, who featured on the standout cut “You Thought.”
