Moneybagg Yo and Kodak Black reconnect on “Rocky Road.”
Over three years since their last collaboration “Lower Level,” the rappers are back with another heater. On the heavy-hitting track, Moneybagg reps his city and reveals that he’s back with Wockesha (“I been sippin’ on my sins / I’m right back drinking this lean”), while Kodak promises to do better by his baby mama (“I cannot leave you on your own, we made this child together”).
“Anytime me and Kodak link up, there be chemistry… it be good,” Moneybagg told Apple Music. “I wanted to come with a different tempo than ‘Lower Level,’ the other joint we have. It took us probably like two weeks to do it.. when we went in there and did it… it came out good… I’m excited about the track… I feel like it’s the warmup.”
He plans to release another solo track next week ahead of his upcoming project. “I’m coming with a little surprise project. It’s gonna be full length and then I’m gonna come back later on,” he said. “It’s just me on the next song, talking my talk. I feel like it’s gonna be one of them summer joints. I’m just putting good songs out that I like. It’s the feeling for now, this is what’s going on.”
In addition to collaborating with Moneybagg, Kodak can be heard on three tracks off Kendrick Lamar’s new album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.
