Drake is making dreams come true for one young athlete and his mother.
As part of his new partnership with online betting platform Stake, the 6 God and LeBron James hosted a dinner with Lobos 1707 tequila at one of his favorite restaurants, Harbour 60 in Toronto, where he filmed the “Headlines” music video.
He invited a local high school basketball star named Michael Evbagharu, who plays for Royal Crown Academic School, and his mother to attend the exclusive event where he gave them the surprise of a lifetime.
“His mother is one of the hardest working women, period,” Drake said. “She’s grinding, she’s working a bunch of jobs in the hopes that her son does incredible things, which we pray he will.”
They arrived to the dinner, but had no idea that Drake and LeBron were about to change their lives by blessing them with $100,000.
“I respect your hard work a lot,” Drake told Michael before telling his mother, “but I respect your hard work more.”
She was in disbelief as Drake handed her the stacks of cash. “I’m not dreaming?” she asked during the heartwarming moment. Added Drake, “Hopefully it makes this journey just a little easier.”
If that wasn’t enough, Drake also gave Michael a pair of his new NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra sneakers.
Drake is known for his acts of kindness. He recently surprised a fan with $10,000 for his birthday while on vacation in Turks and Caicos. On Christmas Day, he drove through Toronto in a Maybach while handing out cash to unsuspecting people on the streets.
