Kim Kardashian is officially a single woman.

On Wednesday, a Los Angeles judge declared the Skims mogul legally single, immediately ending her marriage to Kanye West. She has dropped the West from her name and will go back to being Kim Kardashian.

Kim appeared on a video call during Wednesday’s court hearing, but Ye was absent. Kanye’s lawyer did not object to restoring Kim’s single status. Questions surrounding child custody and financial assets will be addressed at a later date.

At the hearing in L.A. Superior Court, the judge granted one of three preconditions from West’s attorneys about the right to get reimbursement in case either of them dies. However, the other two requests were denied, including restrictions on what would happen if Kim remarried. West and his team did not oppose the general plan for a quick divorce.

Kim initially filed for divorce from the father of her four kids in February 2021 after six years of marriage. Last month, Kim claimed that her estranged husband was causing “emotional distress” with his “constant attacks” on social media.

“While I wish our marriage would have succeeded, I have come to the realization that there is no way to repair our marriage,” she said in court documents. “Kanye does not agree but at least it appears that he has come to the realization that I want to end our marriage, even if he does not.”

On Feb. 25, Ye filed an objection to Kim’s claims about his social media outbursts, dismissing them as “double hearsay.” West’s former lawyer also filed paperwork suggesting that he might challenge the couple’s prenup.

The hearing came just hours after Ye fired his third attorney and hired Samantha Spector, who represented Nicole Young in her $100 million divorce settlement with Dr. Dre. Kim’s lawyer is Dre’s lawyer, Laura Wasser.
