Megan Thee Stallion is responding to an unsubstantiated report over her assault case involving Tory Lanez.
On Wednesday, DJ Akademiks claimed that it was revealed in court that Tory’s DNA was not found on the weapon that was used in the shooting. Tory is facing assault charges for allegedly shooting Megan in the foot following a dispute in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills on July 12, 2020.
Megan fired back at the “false narratives” in a series of posts on Instagram Stories, claiming it’s nothing but lies.
“Court aint even started so why yall ready to start lying,” she wrote. “I know some of yall blogs on payroll but please dont get sued trying to create a hate campaign. Be a real journalist and post FACTS. And to my haters.. keep making yourself look stupid idc.”
A reporter from the New York Post corroborated Megan’s claim, saying that Akademiks’ “fake news tweet was sent out before the hearing even started.” The pre-trial hearing has been postponed until April 5.
The “Savage” rapper also called out the blogger directly for trying to start a smear campaign by spreading false information. Akademiks has since deleted his tweet.
“Yall got breaking news 15 minutes before court started and nobody has even been called in yet??” she asked. “Yall tryna win a social media campaign this is MY REAL LIFE! Yall tryna get retweet’s SPREADING FALSE NARRATIVES! @iamakademiks Why are you lying? What did you gain?”
Megan went on to chide her detractors for believing lies without doing the proper research. “Whats even more fu**ed up is this shit is all public record and nobody even cares to read,” she added. “But yall will get a lie trending.. Imagine how i feel..reliving this shit everyday publicly. It hurts im so tired.”
Not long after, Tory seemingly responded to Megan with a shady tweet. “….. u can’t buy and tweet your way out of this one ..not today,” he wrote.
