Kanye West and Drake are coming together for a historic night.
After squashing their beef, the rappers will join forces for a “Free Larry Hoover” benefit concert at L.A.’s Coliseum on Thursday, Dec. 9 to raise awareness and support for the incarcerated gang leader. Kanye shared the flyer for the event and captioned it “God’s Plan.”
The announcement comes just days after the rivals ended their long-running feud and met up at Drake’s house in Toronto and at Dave Chappelle’s documentary screening.
“I believe this event will not only bring awareness to our cause but prove to people everywhere how much more we can accomplish when we lay our pride aside and come together,” Ye said in a statement.
This marks Ye’s first headline live stadium performance in five years. It’s unclear to what degree Drake will be involved. The press release describes him as a “special guest.”
Earlier in the week, Ye proposed a truce and publicly invited Drake to share the stage with him at the urging of Larry Hoover and Rap-A-Lot Records founder J Prince.
“Bringing these two great artists together for the culture and the cause of prison reform has been an honor,” said J Prince. “Through my work with Larry Hoover and his family, I’ve really had my eyes opened to the plight of incarcerated people in this country, and I hope fans of Ye and Drake will take the time to do the same.”
Added Larry Hoover Jr., “With Ye, Drake, and J. Prince united to advocate for my father’s release, we can take our plea for redemption worldwide and show that we are truly stronger together. On behalf of any and everyone with a love one wrongly or unjustly incarcerated…. Free my father!”
