The love era begins.

After much anticipation, Diddy has announced an official title and release date for his new album. Off the Grid, Vol. 1, his first project in nearly six years, is set to arrive Sept. 24.

Off the Grid appears to be the first volume in a series of projects. “The Album September 24, 2021. Welcome to the LOVE ERA,” he wrote in his caption.

The project is said to be rooted in R&B. The 51-year-old hip-hop mogul has been in the studio with producers and songwriters including BongoByTheWay, Mario Winans, London On Da Track, Stacy Barthe, and James Fauntleroy.

“I’m making a classic,” he recently tweeted, while claiming that he made an R&B version of his 1997 hit “It’s All About the Benjamins.”

Off the Grid marks Diddy’s first release since his 2015 mixtape MMM (Money Making Mitch). In May, he legally changed his middle name from “Diddy” to “Love.” He also recently hired The Weeknd’s manager, Wassim “Sal” Slaiby, to represent him.

In 2019, Diddy announced that he was taking a break from music, but he returned to the studio in January 2021. “To be honest, I’ve been in semi-retirement,” he told Rolling Stone at the time. “If you don’t see my name on all the Top 10 records, that means I’m not making music.”
