Trick Daddy is feeling the sting of the BeyHive, but he doesn’t seem to mind.
The Miami rapper came under fire for his controversial comments about Beyoncé and JAY-Z in a recent Clubhouse chat.
“Beyoncé don’t write music and barely can sing her motherfu**in’ self,” said Trick in the leaked audio recording, while adding, “Beyoncé can’t sang!”
He caused on uproar on social media with his unpopular opinion about the 28-time Grammy-winning superstar. But instead of backing down, the “Nann” rapper is doubling down on his comments.
“To me, a singer is a Stephanie Mills, a singer is a Whitney Houston, a Mariah Carey, an Alicia Keys, an Adele,” he told Marc Lamont Hill on “BNC News.” “To me a singer is somebody that can go to church and give you the word…I’m from the South so singing and sanging is different things.”
While he may not consider Beyoncé a “sanger,” he did compliment her as a performer. “Have I ever seen anybody perform better than her? No. But I don’t think she’s a singer…She’s a singer, but I don’t think she can sang. That’s my unpopular opinion.”
When asked to rank Beyoncé as a singer on a scale of 1 to 100, he responded, “If Stephanie Mills and Whitney Houston is 100, Beyoncé is an 85.”
Added Trick, “Beyoncé is a beautiful, talented, very successful person, but I don’t put her as my top singers, no.”
He then clapped back at the “trolls” for coming at him. “Nobody don’t wanna work so don’t got nothing else to do but to sit and try to troll me. But trolling only works when it affects ’em. I’m not affected by it. I don’t care who don’t agree with me…I don’t think that I said nothing to offend anybody.”
He also had a message for the BeyHive, who have flooded his social media comments. “Good support, man, good job what y’all doing, but I grew up with roaches. I’m more afraid of roaches than bees.”
Not only did he share his unpopular opinion about the Carters, Trick also stirred controversy for comparing Chris Brown to Michael Jackson. “Nobody has done the things that Chris Brown did with a lot of hit records and big records like he done over the years,” he said. “I don’t believe there’s nobody that’s sold as many records and did as much as Chris Brown and Rihanna.”
