50 Cent has launched careers with his TV empire.
But not everyone who auditioned for his hit Starz series have made the cut. In an interview with HipHopDX, the “Power” executive producer revealed some of the big name rappers that tried out—table reads and all—for roles on “Power” and the upcoming drug trafficking drama “Black Mafia Family.”
One of them was Pardison Fontaine. “He’s with Megan [Thee Stallion] right now and he’s a dope writer … one of the talented writers out there,” 50 said of the “Backin’ It Up” rapper, who co-wrote Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow.”
He went on to share that Quavo “read for one of the characters in ‘BMF,'” while Casanova–who is currently awaiting trial–auditioned for the Omar character in “BMF.”
However, Quavo had no trouble landing another gig. The Migos rapper is set to make his feature-film debut alongside Robert DeNiro, John Malkovich, and Jack Huston in the Randall Emmett-directed film Wash Me in the River.
One rapper who will join 50’s “Black Mafia Family” is Snoop Dogg. The rap icon has landed a recurring role as Pastor Swift, the Flenory family’s spiritual advisor, in the Starz drama.
