Kodak Black was targeted in an ambush that left one of his security guards seriously injured.

The rapper and his entourage were leaving Bajas Beachclub in Tallahassee when gunfire erupted in the parking lot of a McDonald’s around 3 a.m. on Monday (April 5). According to TMZ, they were followed by individuals in several vehicles who attempted to cut them off.

Kodak’s crew pulled into the McDonald’s and blocked the entrance with a car while Kodak went inside to pick up an order, despite his security team attempting to do so instead. One of the cars tailing Kodak drove to the McDonald’s and left before later returning and opening fire.

Kodak’s security guard was shot in the leg and rushed to a local hospital where he is reportedly undergoing surgery after one of the shots hit an artery. Kodak was taken away in an armored car and was unharmed.

A spokeswoman for the Tallahassee Police Department confirmed that one person was seriously injured during the shooting but did not provide additional details.

The rapper, who was in Tallahassee as the headliner at the Cultur3 Fest music festival, has not addressed the incident. Just hours before the shooting on Easter Sunday, he released his new song “Easter in Miami.”
