Cardi B is all the way “Up” on the charts.
The rapper earns her fifth No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week with “Up.” The song dethrones Drake’s “What’s Next,” rising from No. 6 to No. 1 after debuting at No. 2 five weeks earlier. The track saw a boost thanks to Cardi’s steamy performance of “Up” and “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion at the Grammys.
Cardi previously reached No. 1 with “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” “I Like It” with Bad Bunny & J Balvin, “Girls Like You” with Maroon 5, and “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion.
She extends her record for the most Hot 100 No. 1s among female rappers. Meanwhile, “Up” is Cardi B’s first Hot 100 No. 1 with no accompanying acts since “Bodak Yellow.” Additionally, she is the first female rapper with two Hot 100 No. 1s with no accompanying artists.
Taking to Instagram, a grateful Cardi celebrated her latest achievement. “I want God to come see me in my dreams when I take my nap today so I can kiss his feet and tell him how much I love him !!!” she wrote. “Yoooooo shit is amazing yoooooo .I got no words .Actually I got a lot of words but I can’t type it all NUMBER 1!!!!!”

On Instagram Live, she thanked her fans and her husband Offset, while also acknowledging the “sh*t talking” from her detractors including conservative commentator Candace Owens. “Five fu**ing number ones,” declared Cardi, who is in “military studio album mode” as she readies her sophomore album.
After debuting three songs atop the Hot 100 last week, Drake’s “What’s Next” falls to No. 2 this week, while “Wants and Needs” featuring Lil Baby rounds out the top 10. Meanwhile, Silk Sonic’s “Leave the Door Open” rises to No. 2 after debuting at No. 4.
