It’s showtime!
Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak are back again, this time as a duo. The two team up to form a new band called Silk Sonic (named by the legendary Bootsy Collins) and release their first single, “Leave the Door Open.” The silky slow jam, produced by Mars and D’Mile, was written by Bruno, Anderson, D’Mile, and Brody Brown.
They also debuted a video, which finds them jamming with the rest of their band in a retro studio. Silk Sonic’s debut album, An Evening with Silk Sonic, will be available later this year.
It’s been over four years since Bruno released his last album, 2016’s 24K Magic, while Anderson dropped Ventura in 2019. They previously linked up in 2017 when Anderson opened for Bruno on the European leg of his “24K Magic World Tour.”
Bruno has also partnered with Lacoste to launch his Ricky Regal clothing line inspired by the ’60s and ’70s. The collection, which includes retro-inspired tracksuits, crocodile-branded slides, and velvet polos, is available Friday in select retailers before launching online March 8.
