Dr. Dre is letting his music speak.
The hip-hop legend has been back in the studio working on new music including a forthcoming collaboration with KXNG Crooked. Aftermath producer DJ Silk took to Instagram Live to preview a snippet of the recently-recorded track, which finds Dre rapping about his highly-publicized divorce from estranged wife Nicole Young and hospitalization for a brain aneurysm.
“Trying to kill me with them lies and that perjury,” raps the 56-year-old Dre. “I see you tryna f**k me while I’m in surgery / And ICU, deathbed on some money shit / Greedy bitch, take a pic / Girl, you know how money get.”
He continues, “You know we don’t tolerate that nonsense / By any means get your hand up out my pocket.”
It’s unclear where the song will appear, but it’s rumored that Eminem will also be featured on the full version.
Dre was rushed to the ICU after suffering a brain aneurysm last month. Just a day after being released, the legendary producer returned to the studio to reportedly work on a 2021 revival of his shelved album Detox.
In a recent interview with DJ Khaled’s podcast “The First One,” Rick Ross confirmed that Dre is working on a new project. “We both working and records are being done,” said the Maybach Music mogul. “He working on his project, which is incredible, sonic…I’ve never heard a ni**a so meticulous with those ad-libs and shit like that, but that’s what you gotta love about Dre.”
Meanwhile, Dre is still in the middle of a contentious divorce from Nicole Young. Dre’s lawyers agreed to pay his estranged wife $2 million in temporary spousal support while he was in the hospital.
Despite his marriage drama, Dre appears to be moving on. Earlier this month, he was spotted on a dinner date with Omarion’s ex Apryl Jones.
