Azealia Banks is off the market.
The “212” rapper is engaged to artist and creative director Ryder Ripps. Taking to Instagram on Sunday night (Feb. 21), Banks showed off her gold engagement ring featuring a menorah, a Ripps family heirloom, and announced that she was “Jewish now.”
“I just got engaged kunts. I’m crying 😭…. I’m Jewish now,” she wrote in the caption. “MAZEL TOV BITCHES! WE IN HERE…. YERRRRRRR.”
She also shared photos from the proposal, where her boyfriend got down on one knee and presented her with the ring while kissing her hand. “My bb,” commented Ryder on his fiancée’s post.
A family may also be in the couple’s future. When a fan asked what she was going to name her child, Azealia replied, “Isaac David Goldensteinstienbergschwitz.” She also addressed critics, who questioned her new faith: “You can’t stop me. I’m a jewcy diva now.”
Ripps runs a design firm called OKFocus and has created branding for artists including Kanye West, Pop Smoke, and Pusha-T, as well as brands like Gucci and Marc Jacobs.
It’s unclear how the couple met, but they have a mutual acquaintance. Ripps designed the album art for Grimes’ 2020 album Miss Anthropocene. In 2018, Azealia claimed that she had been invited to Elon Musk’s house to collaborate with his girlfriend, Grimes.
