Dr. Dre’s home was hit by burglars amid his hospitalization.
While the hip-hop mogul was in the intensive-care unit at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, four men attempted to break into his Pacific Palisades mansion around 2 a.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 6), according to TMZ. The would-be thieves were caught by security as they were casing the house.
Before they could get to the main property, security confronted them and called the police. The men took off but cops arrived almost immediately and were able to catch and arrest the four suspects.
Law enforcement believes the men saw an opportunity to rob Dre after reading that he was in the hospital. They were arrested for attempted burglary and are currently in custody.
Dre was rushed to the hospital on Monday after suffering a reported brain aneurysm. He remains in the ICU in stable and lucid condition. Doctors are trying to determine what is causing the bleeding.
As fans and friends sent their prayers, the 55-year-old producer returned to social media with an encouraging update on his condition. “I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team,” he told his followers on Tuesday night. “I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”
