Cardi B’s big Thanksgiving was met with backlash.

The “WAP” rapper hosted 37 family members at her house over the holiday, despite the CDC advising against big holiday gatherings due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. She also shared video of her and Offset dancing alongside several family members without masks.

“12kids and 25 adults over the holidays,” tweeted Cardi. “It was lit !!”

Cardi was criticized for her decision to host a large gathering when many people have had to sacrifice being with their families for Thanksgiving. Following the backlash, she issued an apology. “Sorry my bad wasn’t trying to make nobody feel bad,” she said. “I just had my family in my home for the first time and it felt so good & uplifted me.”

She also claims that everyone was tested before she had them over. “I spent soo much money getting every1 tested but it felt worth it,” Cardi added. “I wasnt trying to offend no1.”

Cardi claims that she and her team get tested for COVID-19 four times per week. “ME specially and everyone that works around me get tested literally 4 times a week,” she said. “Im In the middle of work and Everytime we clock in we MUST GET TESTED !”

Cardi previously received backlash for hosting a large party in Las Vegas to celebrate her 28th birthday, which was attended by her famous friends including Megan Thee Stallion, The Weeknd, Meek Mill, and Kylie Jenner.

In April, Offset’s uncle passed away due to complications from the coronavirus. Offset urged his followers to follow safety guidelines and wear a mask. “Rip uncle Jerry!!!!! keep your mask on b/c you do not want to loose your family or friends thinking it’s a joke!!!” he tweeted.
