YNW Melly remains behind bars, but that didn’t stop his family from throwing him a party.

The rapper’s mother and girlfriend celebrated his belated birthday by hiring strippers to perform on top of a building adjacent to the Broward County Jail in Florida where Melly is awaiting trial. While Cardi B’s “WAP” played, dancers twerked in masks that said “Free YNW Melly” as cash rained down on them.

Melly was able to take in the birthday festivities from his jail cell window. “Free Melly,” the group chanted while holding up shots.

Even though Melly turned 21 back in May, his family still decided to celebrate in November. “It was the birth of his alter ego,” wrote one of the dancers, who works for Kitty On Demand, a mobile stripper service.

The “Murder On My Mind” hitmaker has been in jail since February 2019 while awaiting trial for his double-murder case. He is facing the death penalty after being charged with two counts of first-degree murder stemming from the October 2018 shooting of his friends, Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr.

After testing positive for COVID-19 in April, his lawyer asked that the judge release Melly on house arrest, but his request was denied.
