Tory Lanez is facing two felony charges in the shooting involving Megan Thee Stallion.

On Thursday (Oct. 8), the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that the 28-year-old rapper, born Daystar Peterson, has been charged with one felony count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He also faces a gun allegation and that he personally inflicted great bodily injury.

The charges follow a dispute involving Tory and Megan, who is referred to as a “female friend,” while riding in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills on July 12. Tory is accused of shooting her several times in the feet as she was exiting the vehicle.

If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in state prison. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 13.

Tory was previously arrested following the incident but was only charged with possession of a firearm. Prosecutors had been considering a charge of felony assault with a firearm.

In August, Megan accused Tory of shooting her and revealed her graphic foot injuries. “Yes, this ni**a Tory shot me. You shot me. And you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and shit. Stop lying. Why lie? I don’t understand,” she said.

On his album DAYSTAR, Tory denied Megan’s allegations and accused her of filing a false police report. “Girl, you had the nerve to write that statement on the affidavit / Knowin’ I ain’t do it but I’m comin’ at my truest,” he raps on “Money Over Fallouts.”
