After a 12-hour lockout, Kanye West returned to Twitter with a big announcement.
In his latest series of tweets on Friday, Ye announced that he is the new head of Adidas, home to his popular Yeezy brand.
“I am the head of adidas,” he told his 31 million followers.
As part of his new role, he says he wants to bring rivals Adidas and Puma back together, and mend his relationship with JAY-Z. “I will bring adidas and puma back together and bring me and jay back together,” he said before taking shots at Puma.
“all pumas designs are embarrassingly trash,” added Ye, “but I will personally design puma and adidas and make everything ok.”
JAY-Z has a partnership with Puma, along with many of Kanye’s peers including Pusha-T, Big Sean, Meek Mill, and J. Cole.
Kanye released his first Adidas Yeezy sneaker in 2015 and his partnership with the German sportswear company has been lucrative. According to Forbes, his Yeezy sneaker empire is valued at $1.3 billion.
He previously complained about his lack of a board seat at Adidas and Gap and even threatened to walk away from both companies unless they put him on their corporate boards. “In risk or no risk of losing whatever deal possible, I am not on the board at Adidas. I am not on the board at Gap,” West said during his presidential campaign rally in July. “And that has to change today, or I walk away.”
During Friday’s Twitter spree, he also called for the release of Suge Knight and Larry Hoover.
