Tamar Braxton’s relationship may be on the rocks.

The singer’s boyfriend filed a retraining order Tuesday in L.A. asking for protection against her in what he describes as a domestic violence situation. According to TMZ, David Adefeso is asking a judge to grant him an order against the 43-year-old singer-reality star. However, it’s unclear what he’s alleging she might have done.

The court has yet to approve his request, but it’s a possible sign that their relationship has taken a turn in recent weeks.

David was the one who called 911 after finding Tamar “unresponsive” at The Ritz-Carlton Residences in downtown Los Angeles after an apparent suicide attempt on July 16. He told cops she may have overdosed on pills and alcohol. She had reportedly been frustrated with how she was being portrayed on her upcoming WE tv reality show “Get Ya Life!”

Following her hospitalization, Tamar opened up for the first time since attempting to take her life. “My cry for help went totally ignored,” she wrote. “It was witnessing the slow death of the woman I became, that discouraged my will to fight. I felt like I was no longer living, I was existing for the purpose of a corporations gain and ratings, and that killed me.”

Tamar started dating David, a Nigerian wealth manager, following her split from ex-husband Vincent Herbert in the summer of 2018. “He’s so smart. I’m so proud of him,” Tamar told Wendy Williams in September 2018. “He’s so amazing, he’s so kind, and he’s saved.”

Family sources tell TMZ that Tamar has changed since she started dating David and “her mood seems to align with his.” David has reportedly been heavily involved in Tamar’s reality show, as well as her business decisions.
