Kanye West is making amends with Kim Kardashian.
Just days after claiming that he wanted a divorce during his Twitter meltdown, the rapper has publicly apologized to his wife for his hurtful comments. Taking to Twitter on Saturday, Ye issued a heartfelt apology to Kim for airing out their private affairs in public.
“I would like to apologize to my wife Kim for going public with something that was a private matter,” he tweeted. “I did not cover her like she has covered me.”
He also asked for forgiveness. “To Kim I want to say I know I hurt you. Please forgive me,” he added. “Thank you for always being there for me.”
The apology comes after Kanye reportedly rejected Kim’s repeated attempts to reach her husband following his Twitter rant. According to TMZ, she tried to fly to their Wyoming ranch twice to help him, but he refused to see her both times.
During his tweetstorm, Kanye claimed that Kim tried to have him committed to a mental hospital. “Kim tried to bring a doctor to lock me up with a doctor,” he tweeted. “If I get locked like Mandela Y’all will know why.”
He also said that he wanted to divorce his wife, suggesting that she had an inappropriate relationship with Meek Mill in 2018. “I been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Warldolf for ‘prison reform,'” tweeted Ye, adding, “Meek is my man and was respectful. That’s my dog Kim was out of line.”
In a statement, Kim opened up about Kanye’s struggle with bipolar disorder. “Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand,” she wrote. “Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words some times do not align with his intentions.”
Concerned friends including Justin Bieber, Dave Chappelle, and Damon Dash have rushed to Kanye’s side in Wyoming.
Meanwhile, the wait for his new album DONDA continues. After initially announcing that the project would arrive on Friday, he revealed the cover art but did not provide an update on its release.
