Ahead of The Album next month, Teyana Taylor returns with a pair of singles and videos.

On “Made It,” she celebrates the Class of 2020, who were deprived of a formal commencement this year due to the pandemic. The inspirational video features footage submitted by the graduating class. And the song is personal for Teyana, who never had a formal high school graduation. She finished home schooling and received her high school diploma inside of a Starbucks.

“YOU MADE IT!!!!!!! Class of 2020 this is for you!!!! First and foremost, Thank you to ALL the graduates that contributed to the video!” said Teyana. “I truly appreciate you & happy to celebrate YOU!!! Unfortunately, this pandemic has stopped us from physically gathering and celebrating all the hard work you’ve put in through the years But this pandemic can’t stop your spirit, it can’t dim your light, and it can’t take your degree away from you!!”

She switches lanes on the sensual “Bare Wit Me,” which went viral when a clip of the dance sequence was shared on Twitter last week. Teyana plays the murderous Greyla Greathouse in the 1930s gangster-themed video, which co-stars her husband Iman Shumpert. The self-directed clip opens with Teyana with a gun in hand as a bloody Iman lays next to her. She grabs a yellow zoot suit from his closet before suffocating him with a pillow. She and her gangster girls then ride out and show off their robotic moves.

Both “Made It” and “Bare Wit Me” are set to appear on Teyana’s upcoming project, The Album, which has already spawned a video for “We Got Love” featuring Ms. Lauryn Hill. The Album, the follow-up to the Kanye West-produced K.T.S.E., is due next month.
