Five months after his death, a posthumous Juice WRLD album is on the way.
The late rapper’s girlfriend Ally Lotti has shared more details about the first project since his death. While speaking with fans on Instagram Live Sunday, she revealed that the album will be titled The Outsiders.
“At first, I was like, I need exactly what Jarad wanted to come out right now. Remember we were talking about The Outsiders, all this stuff?” said Ally.
She got emotional as she described his first project since 2019’s Death Race for Love. “That actual album, no one’s ready for it. I’m not ready for it and I promise you, you are not ready for it,” she added.
Prior to Ally, Juice’s friend and mentor, Lil Bibby, announced that a posthumous album was in the works. While paying tribute to Juice, Bibby said that the project was “coming soon.”
Last month, Juice WRLD’s family released his posthumous single “Righteous” that he recorded at his home studio in Los Angeles. The dark and introspective track finds him grappling with addiction, anxiety, and death.
The prolific MC had reportedly recorded around 2,000 tracks prior to his death in December. Some of the unreleased material could find its way onto The Outsiders and other projects.
“Juice was a prolific artist who dedicated his life to making music,” his family said in a statement. “Choosing how to share his upcoming music with the world has been no easy feat. Honoring the love Juice felt for his fans while shining a light on his talents and his spirit are the most important parts of this process to us.”
Juice’s mother Carmela Wallace also recently announced the establishment of the Live Free 999 Fund in her son’s honor.
