50 Cent is still chasing his check from Teairra Mari.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, the rap mogul has filed a lien against the former “Love & Hip Hop” star’s assets and property in an attempt to collect on a nearly $40,000 judgment owed to him. Mari hasn’t paid the $30,000 plus sanctions she was ordered to pay after he prevailed in a revenge porn lawsuit.
He has sent notices to companies he believes Mari works with demanding they pay any amount owed to her.
In 2018, Mari sued 50 and her ex-boyfriend Akbar Abdul-Ahad, accusing them of engaging in a plan to sexually objectify and humiliate her. She claimed Abdul-Ahad logged into her Instagram account and posted a sexually-graphic video and photo with “ejaculate” on her face. After Mari removed the content, 50 reposted the material on his own Instagram page.
A judge dismissed all claims against the rapper and ordered Mari to pay $30,618 to cover part of 50’s legal bills. But collecting the money hasn’t been easy. He has taken to social media multiple times to demand payment and even had Mari turn over her financial records. During the May 2019 hearing, she claimed she was “broke broke” and unable to make the payment.
In July, a Los Angeles judge awarded 50 an additional $4,392.50 in sanctions after Mari failed to abide by the court rules.
50 has accused the singer of trying to “conceal her assets” in order to prevent him from seizing them. “To date, Mari has failed to pay a single dime to Jackson in satisfaction of the Judgment despite earning over $100,000 this past year,” he said in court docs. “Her previous claims under oath that she is ‘broke’ no longer ring true, and it is more clear than ever that she has no intention of paying her debts.”
