Yeezus saves.
Kanye West and Chick-fil-A have teamed up with The Dream Center Los Angeles, a non-profit Christian organization, to provide over 300,000 meals for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic in the L.A. area. According to Fox News, the Dream Center has been able to provide 11,000 meals a day since March to those in need thanks to early support from Kanye and companies like Chick-fil-A.
“Every morning I wake up and stand in the parking lot with our dedicated staff, I am blown away that day after day, week after week, there is enough food to provide to folks that need it,” said Dream Center co-founder Matthew Barnett. “I can’t say thank you enough to the various donors who’ve made this a reality. This is what a neighborhood, a community, and a church should always look like.”
Dream Center, which Kim Kardashian also supports, provides meals and other essential items seven days a week for 11 hours a day. Kanye’s generous donation will help them expand their drive-thru service to vulnerable seniors, who need to remain isolated in their homes. Chick-fil-A has also been donating sandwiches every day for the Dream Center’s efforts.
Kanye is a fan of Chick-fil-A as documented on his latest album Jesus Is King. His song “Closed on Sunday” was inspired by the fast food chain.
The Yeezy mogul continues to give back amid the coronavirus pandemic. He also made a donation to We Women Empowered in his hometown of Chicago, which will enable the charity to expand their services of providing meal delivery to the elderly on Chicago’s South Side, where he grew up.
