The Queen Bee is stinging back.
Earlier this month, Bhad Bhabie made headlines after she appeared to darken her skin color during a photo shoot. While defending herself against blackfishing accusations, the 17-year-old rapper decided to take aim at Lil’ Kim, who has faced her own scrutiny over her complexion.
“Lil’ Kim wears fu**ing foundation–no disrespect towards Lil’ Kim, I’m actually a fan of hers–but the girl wears foundation that’s too light for her face,” she said during an Instagram Live. “The girl went and got a nose job to have a smaller nose to be like white people. Y’all don’t see that? She doing what makes her happy, that’s on her.”
She continued to rip the rap icon. “She literally got surgery to make herself look like a white person, she’s wearing makeup that’s light, and y’all don’t say a goddamn word about her. But I put on a foundation that makes me look tan.”
After hearing Bhabie’s comments, Lil’ Kim took to Instagram Stories to address the issue, vowing to respond once the pandemic is over. “That Lil Kim hate different,” she wrote in a since-deleted post. “How tf I become a target in the middle of a pandemic? There’s more important things going on in the world but you better believe when this is all over ima put a date and address on it and seal it with a kiss.”
Bhad Bhabie caused an uproar after sharing a video of herself where her skin appears darker. Social media called her out for “blackfishing,” the act of darkening one’s skin in order to look black, while others even compared her look to blackface.
