Ja Rule wants the smoke.

Following high-profile beat battles between RZA and DJ Premier, Hit-Boy and Boi-1da, and T-Pain and Lil Jon, Ja Rule says he’s ready to go up against his longtime rival 50 Cent as part of Timbaland and Swizz Beatz’ popular “Versuz” series on Instagram Live.

The Murder Inc. rapper made the announcement during an Instagram Live between Swizz and Fat Joe. “Ja Rule says he loves hip-hop first and foremost and he wants to do this for the culture,” said Joe.

He then called up Ja on the phone to issue the challenge himself. “I want all the smoke, but I’ll behave,” he promised.

Fat Joe commented that their battle would break the internet. “It would break the internet in a bad way,” added Ja. “It’s gonna be fu**ing broke for real. They may not be able to put it back up for a week or two. We can do that for the culture, ni**a.”

Swizz, who organizes the weekly battles, seemed open to the idea but wanted to make sure his “intentions is where they need to be.” He told Ja to send him his 20 best songs. “We’ll take it from there.”

50 has not responded to Ja’s challenge. The two have a long history of beef, dating back over two decades. “We’re sworn enemies forever,” Ja told Bravo’s Andy Cohen in October.

According to 50, the rivalry won’t end until one of them is dead. “It’s never over. We may take a break, but [it] ain’t over till one of us gone,” he once said.
