Malachiae is keeping love alive.
Motown’s rising star delivers his nostalgic new single “Try to Love.” Shot in Atlanta and directed by Malachi Lee (DaniLeigh, EarthGang), the video is a beautiful portrait of love and conflict. The 24-year-old heartthrob serves up romantic vocals as he apologizes and serenades his lady over the backing of trap 808s.
“‘Try to Love’ represents giving love your all even when times get hard. It’s a song we all can relate to,” Malachiae tells Rap-Up. “It captures a situation that most of us had to go through to get to the other side of love. With this video I wanted to show the world that love isn’t easy but it’s always worth an honest try.”
Inspired by Lloyd and Bob Marley, Malachiae’s wise-beyond-his-years lyrics and strong vocals are a testimony to his upbringing in the church, where he started singing at 14 years old. He has also collaborated with Migos (“Thank Yo Momma”) and Lloyd (“I’m Down”).
