Like father, like son.
Drake showed up to a Halloween party dressed as his dad. Taking to Instagram Thursday morning, the rapper shared a photo of himself next to his father Dennis Graham. The two are dressed in matching white shirts, glasses, gold chains, and white knitted caps. Drizzy completed his look with a fake beard.
“Not planned,” Drake captioned the photo.
His costume was a hit with his friends including Diddy, Jamie Foxx, La La Anthony, and Swae Lee, who commented, “Twinning.”
Father and son seem to be on good terms following their public disagreement earlier this month. In an interview with Power 106’s “Nick Cannon Mornings,” Graham shot down claims that he was an absentee father and said that Drake embellished their relationship to sell records.
“I have always been with Drake,” said Graham. “I talked to him if not every day, every other day, and we really got into a deep conversation about that. I said, ‘Drake, why are you saying all of this different stuff about me, man? This is not cool.’ And he goes, ‘Dad, it sells records.’ And I said, ‘OK, well cool.'”
Drake addressed his father’s hurtful comments on his Instagram Story, insisting his lyrics are based on truth. “Woke up today so hurt, man. My father will say anything to anyone that’s willing to listen to him,” he said. “It’s sad when family gets like this, but what can we really do? That’s the people we are stuck with. Every bar I ever spit was the truth and the truth is hard for some people to accept.”
Their rocky relationship has inspired several Drake songs including 2011’s “Look What You’ve Done.” “And my father living in Memphis now, he can’t come this way,” he raps. “Over some minor charges and child support / That just wasn’t paid, damn / Boo-hoo, sad story, black American dad story.”
