Megan Thee Stallion is keeping her hot streak going.
After an epic 2019, the Houston hottie is already mapping out 2020 which includes her debut album. In an interview with NPR, she opened up about the long-awaited project.
“I felt like my mixtapes were me flirting with my fans,” said Meg. “I never wanted to do an album ’cause I was like, ‘Oh, that feel like marriage. That’s a commitment.’ But now, I’m ready to settle down with an album.”
The album, which follows May’s Fever mixtape, will also introduce her newest alter-ego, Suga. “There’s a lot of people up here,” said Meg, whose alter-egos include Hot Girl Meg, Thee Stallion, and Tina Snow. “My next project I will be introducing a new lady. Her name is Suga. She’s besties with Tina Snow.”
And her only competition is herself. “I’m always trying to one-up myself. I don’t feel like I’m in competitive with anybody,” she said. “If I’m worried about beating somebody else, I’m not going to be the best version of me. It shouldn’t be a competition because somebody else winning is not going to make me lose.”
During a recent performance at NPR’s Tiny Desk Fest, she debuted one new track, which includes the lyrics: “Everybody wanna know who Megan dating / That depends on whatever the date is / I got me a European papi out of Italy.”
In between performing on “SNL” and hosting her Hottieween parties, Megan also stars in her Halloween YouTube trilogy, “Megan Thee Stallion P.I. in: Hottieween.” The three-episode series, directed by Teyana Taylor and starring Dave East, was inspired by campy horror classics and blaxploitation heroines. The first episode is out now, while the second episode debuts tonight at 9 p.m. EST, and the final one on Hot Girl Halloween, Oct. 31.
