The year of Tyga continues.
After staging a massive comeback, the L.A. rapper has signed a multi-million dollar deal with Columbia Records, it was announced today. He is set to debut new music under the newly-minted deal “very soon.”
Tyga joins the label’s powerhouse roster including Beyoncé, Adele, John Legend, Pharrell, Tyler, the Creator, and Lil Nas X.
The signing follows an incredible couple of years for Tyga, whose single “Taste” was certified 6x platinum and generated over 1 billion streams. In June, he released his gold-certified album Legendary independently via his own Last Kings Records / Empire Distribution.
Prior to going independent, Tyga was signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment via Cash Money Records from 2008-2014. He filed a $10 million lawsuit against the label in 2018 over unpaid royalties before dropping the suit this year.
