JT is out of prison.
The City Girls rapper has been released to a halfway house to serve out the remainder of her sentence. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that Jatavia Johnson was transferred from FCI Tallahassee to a halfway house in the Atlanta area as she awaits her March 7 release.
She had been behind bars since June 2018, after turning herself in to authorities on charges related to felony identity theft.
During her stay in a halfway house, JT will be able to leave the house during the day to work and visit family and friends. When asked what she did on her first day out, she told a fan, “On a studio bus driving to the half way house, recording, doing my hair, nails, make up and spending time with my love ones all at the same time.”
She didn’t waste any time getting back to work. On Tuesday, JT dropped a new track called “JT First Day Out” on which she celebrates her homecoming. “Left prison with a pimple not a scratch,” she raps. “Point blank period, won’t see me back.”
JT also received a welcome home present from her fellow City Girl Yung Miami in the form of an icy chain that spells out the group’s name in diamonds.
City Girls are also readying a new album. Yung Miami said she and JT plan to hit the studio to record the project, which is due next spring.
