As she gears up to release her new album Truth Is, Sabrina Claudio debuts the title track.

The stripped-down ballad, co-written by Julia Michaels, shows the Puerto Rican/Cuban songstress’ personal growth as she branches outside of her comfort zone.

“I wrote ‘Truth Is’ with Julia Michaels during our first time working together,” says Sabrina. “The song is about emotions we often think of but are afraid to voice—the feelings we try to convince ourselves we don’t actually feel. Those two words, Truth Is, symbolize everything this album is about.”

“Truth Is” follows “Holding the Gun” and the seductive “As Long As You’re Asleep” from Sabrina’s forthcoming project, described as “more vulnerable and collaborative than ever before.” For the first time, she worked with other writers and producers including Michaels, Simon Wilcox (Nick Jonas, Camila Cabello), Stint (Gallant, Demi Lovato), and Nolan Lombroza (DJ Khaled, Kehlani).

This weekend, Sabrina will embark on her “Truth Is Tour” with special guest Gallant. The North American trek kicks off Sept. 21 in L.A. and travels to San Francisco, Vancouver, Chicago, Toronto, and New York through early November.

Truth Is arrives Oct. 4. Watch the self-shot lyric video below.
