Nicki Minaj is still welcome on “The Breakfast Club.”
On Thursday (Aug. 15), Nicki said she had been “banned” from the popular Power 105 show. However, that’s not the case according to Charlamagne tha God.
During an interview with Page Six, “The Breakfast Club” co-host denied the ban on Barbie. “There was never a problem with her,” he said. “We never banned her from the radio station. There is not a consequence to what she has said now, or in the past. I don’t know why she is saying that.”
He also claimed that he and Minaj “talk on the phone; we text each other” and that “rappers are going to be rappers.” He went on to compare the posturing to “wrestling,” adding that the door is always open for the “Megatron” rapper. “I would be happy and welcome her to come on the show,” he said.
Earlier in the week, Nicki responded to an interview Charlamagne did with Rick Ross, during which he addressed her recent comments regarding his 2017 track “Apple of My Eye.”
“Charlemagne get so excited when he thinks some1 bout to say smthn negative about me 😭 that tail get to wagging, that lil pussy get to poppin, he get to giggling,” she tweeted. “They banned me from the show but always talkn bout me.”
But she may be paying a return visit soon, whether she’s invited or not. “I’m pullin up cuz we in NY soon. I’d rather be invited tho js,” added Nicki, whose last interview on “The Breakfast Club” was in October 2016.
Minaj, who recently changed her Twitter name to Mrs. Petty, is headed down the aisle soon. During an episode of Queen Radio earlier this week, she revealed that she and Kenneth Petty will tie the knot in the next 80 days before their marriage license expires. A formal wedding will take place at a later date.
“I’ll be married before my album comes out, but I’ll probably have my wedding after my album comes out,” she said.
