Nicki Minaj and Joe Budden came face-to-face during an explosive episode of Queen Radio.

To mark the one-year anniversary of her top-rated show on Apple Music’s Beats 1 on Monday (Aug. 12), the “Megatron” rapper welcomed Budden and his “Joe Budden Podcast” co-hosts Rory and Mal to the studio. During their heated conversation, Minaj confronted Budden, who has been critical of her in the past.

“One of the things we’re gonna address with Joe Budden is the amount of times that he has called me a liar about stuff that I wasn’t lying about,” she said. “I said, I’m a lot of things, but liar is not one of them.”

On a recent episode of his podcast, Budden accused Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion of fabricating their Instagram Live session to make it look impromptu. He believes they had already recorded their “Hot Girl Summer” collaboration and that the Live was all part of the rollout. But Nicki insisted that it was organic.

“What makes you think that that was a planned Live and that we already had a song done and that was wicked witch from the west Nicki planning stuff and being calculated and stuff?” asked Nicki.

Joe responded, “I think that you are more brand aware than that line leads to believe. I think you’ve carried yourself to be more conscious of not only your stardom, but your impact on other people’s careers, especially new artists. So to see that and for it to come off as organic as y’all would have us believe, then y’all went into telling us how organic it was and that is Music Industry 101 for me.”

Nicki told her side, explaining that the Instagram Live was not planned and that she did not record her verse for the song until after the Live. “By the time we got off Live, it had to be like 2 o’clock in the morning. When I heard the song, I loved the song and I just wrote the song right then and there. That’s exactly what happened.”

Joe then questioned how the video shoot happened so soon after the song dropped. That’s when things got a little heated. “Even after I said what I said, he is still interrogating me,” said Nicki. “Even after I’ve said over and over what really happened, he’s still insinuating that there’s no way. Now there’s a new reason.”

He responded, “Nicki Minaj is inserting words in my mouth. Prior to speaking with you, I went on my platform and said what I believed. Then I spoke to you and you said what happened. Then I come here and you say to explain why I think that, so that’s what I did.”

The conversation then turned to the controversy surrounding Migos’ “MotorSport.” Budden believes Minaj did not initially know that Cardi B would also be appearing on the record, and she pulled up a clip of Budden from “Everyday Struggle” to prove her point.

“Ya’ll went and told the world, ‘Nicki Minaj is lying,'” she said. “You said I didn’t know another bitch was on the song and then I got mad. But I’m the all-powerful queen bee, right? You really think someone could put a song out with Onika Tanya Maraj and I don’t know who the who on the song?”

Joe then tried to ask if Nicki and Cardi were taking shots at each other on “MotorSport,” but Nicki wasn’t having it. “You not gon’ change the subject. I’m asking you a fucking question. You used to dealing with stupid people, you’re not gonna outsmart me, sweetheart. I said I knew the bitch was on the song, you said she didn’t know she was on the song.”

Tensions grew as they went back and forth. “You like tearing down people’s character when they can’t respond,” said Nicki. “You like tearing down women when they can’t defend themselves. You like tearing down women, when you can end their career ‘cause lowkey you’re jealous of their success.”

Budden also accused Nicki of being on drugs in the past. “Your entire last album did that. Your past is littered with it. Who gives a fuck what she popped? But don’t sit here and say you ain’t popped a fucking pill,” he said.

Nicki denied ever saying she never did drugs, but denied using cocaine. “I never said that you dumb fuck. Are you that fucking dumb? You ain’t hear what the fuck I said,” she said.

She lashed out at Budden for perpetuating lies about her before cutting off his mic. “Cut his fucking mic since he wanna be fucking dumb. Now you wanna be fucking dumb. Stupid ass. Fuck is wrong with you? Play it back. Did I say that?”

The interview continued without Budden. “He’s so used to thinking he’s the smartest person in the fucking room. And not allowing people to speak and then when you find that you’re wrong about some shit, not saying, ‘Damn. I was wrong. Maybe I did the most. Maybe I did say things about you that were proven wrong.’ Forget drugs, I just gave you two examples where you said something that was not true about me and you still riding with it.”

During Monday’s episode of Queen Radio, Nicki also addressed recent comments from Trina’s A&R executive and revealed that she and Kenneth Petty are getting married in the next 80 days. “I’ll be married before my album comes out, but I’ll probably have my wedding after my album comes out,” she said.
