Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are working to free A$AP Rocky.

The couple has reportedly lobbied the White House to help release the rapper, who has been in a Swedish jail for his alleged involvement in a street brawl. According to TMZ, President Trump is aware of Rocky’s situation and has his team working to get him freed.

Rocky was arrested July 2 over his alleged involvement in a street brawl in Stockholm. Swedish authorities plan to keep him in custody until July 19 while prosecutors decide whether to charge him for aggravated assault, despite video showing the alleged victim harassing and attacking him.

As soon as Kanye heard about A$AP’s predicament earlier this month, he urged his wife to speak to Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who Kim previously worked with on her prison reform efforts. Kim informed Jared of the situation, and Jared took the info to Trump himself.

In addition to Kim and Kanye, Kareem Lanier and Pastor Darrell Scott of the White House’s Urban Revitalization Coalition have also been instrumental in connecting A$AP’s management with Kushner through a phone call.

Trump reportedly told Kushner he believed A$AP was being held unfairly, and wanted to help. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is now actively working to get A$AP out of jail, thanks in large part to Kim’s efforts. A State Dept. member was supposed to arrive in Sweden on Thursday.

Despite Pompeo’s efforts, Swedish authorities remain unmoved and there is fear that prosecutors might delay their decision even further and keep A$AP in custody.

Meanwhile, his friends and fans have taken to social media to share their support. Over 600,000 people, including Diddy, Justin Bieber, and Meek Mill, have signed a #JusticeForRocky petition on Change.org to urge Sweden to release him.
