Weezy has the horses in the back.
Fresh off the official remix with Young Thug and Mason Ramsey, Lil Wayne is teasing his own remix to Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road.” A snippet of the remix has surfaced via HipHop-N-More, which finds Tunechi spitting Auto-Tuned country rhymes over the Billy Ray Cyrus-assisted smash.
“She got that honky-tonk / I met her on Farmers Only,” he raps in the brief clip. “I’m a Young Money cowboy / Sitting on my high horse.”
It’s unclear if and when the remix will be released in full. Wayne, who is currently on tour with blink-182, has been teasing his long-awaited Funeral album.
Meanwhile, “Old Town Road” is on its way to making Billboard Hot 100 history. It is the third song to spend 15 weeks or more at No. 1 on the Hot 100, and is just one week away from tying the 16-week record held by Mariah Carey’s “One Sweet Day” and Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito.”
Lil Nas X has even hinted at a potential remix with Mariah, who seemed to be down.
