Snoop Dogg is giving thanks…to himself.
The West Coast veteran is back with his new single “I Wanna Thank Me,” which also serves as the title track from his upcoming album. The Battlecat production was inspired by his viral speech at the Hollywood Walk of Fame in November.
“I wanna thank me,” Snoop Dogg said as he accepted his star. “I wanna thank me for believing in me. I wanna thank me for doing all this hard work. I wanna thank me for having no days off.”
On the track, Tha Doggfather boasts about his accomplishments. “West Coast king, man, I need a statue,” he raps. “Yeah, I said it, who did it like me? / Who want the dice, ni**a, bet it / Twenty-plus years, I ain’t even gotta sell it.”
Snoop’s new album, I Wanna Thank Me, is due this summer. It follows his 2018 gospel album Bible of Love, which recently won a BET Award.
