On the one-year anniversary of XXXTentacion’s death, Kodak Black pays tribute to the slain MC in the video for “Malcolm X.X.X.”

Project Baby portrays the late civil rights leader, donning a suit and glasses as he takes the podium and compares Malcolm X to XXXTentacion, both of whom were fatally shot.

“X was tryna change his life, but he got burned down,” he raps. “X wasn’t ridin’ with no pipe so he got gunned down / Listen, do as I say, don’t do as I do / Nine out of ten, it ain’t gon’ end up lookin’ good for you.”

Prior to his death, X collaborated with Kodak on “Roll in Peace” off 2017’s Project Baby 2. The 20-year-old rapper was shot and killed outside a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, South Florida, on June 18, 2018.

“Malcolm X.X.X.” is off Kodak’s sophomore album Dying to Live, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in December.

He is currently behind bars on weapons charges after being arrested at Rolling Loud Miami last month. He is expected to remain in jail until his trial gets underway in September.
