After much anticipation, Chris Brown announced his tour earlier this week. However, despite previous reports, Nicki Minaj will not be joining him.
In April, Variety reported that the tour would be a joint billing between Brown and Minaj. Chris himself also seemed to confirm the rumors, adding that the tour would kick off in the summer.
Now sources tell TMZ that Nicki never signed on for the tour in any capacity. The two did discuss touring together after their “Wobble Up” collaboration, but the talks never materialized into a deal.
Nicki was apparently the one who decided not to do the tour for several reasons. She is working on music and a tour would have interfered with her studio time, plus she recently wrapped her European tour and was not ready to go back on the road so soon.
Chris will hit the road on his “INDIGOAT Tour” with Tory Lanez, Ty Dolla $ign, Joyner Lucas, and Yella Beezy this summer. The 38-city trek kicks off Aug. 20 in Portland, Ore. and will make stops at major arenas in New York, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and more, before wrapping in Anaheim, Calif. on Oct. 19.
