Justin Bieber returned to the stage during Ariana Grande’s Coachella performance.

Following her star-studded Weekend 1 set with special guests *NSYNC, Diddy, Ma$e, and Nicki Minaj, Grande surprised fans once again with her second headlining set at the Indio, Calif. festival on Easter Sunday (April 21).

After performing crowd favorites like “7 Rings,” “Love Me Harder,” “NASA,” and “Break Free,” Grande introduced her special guest Bieber.

“We thought it might be fun to do something for you guys,” said Grande before the two performed his 2015 hit “Sorry.”

“I haven’t been on stage in like two years. I came out here, I had no idea I was going to be on stage tonight,” said Bieber. “So anyways this is my first time on stage in like two years, so I had to get my groove back. I had to get my swag back. Thank you so much Coachella. Thank you so much to Ariana Grande.”

But before leaving, he made a bombshell announcement. “And by the way, album coming soon,” he said as the crowd erupted in cheers.

Just last month, Bieber announced plans to take a break so he could deal with some “deep-rooted issues.” Taking to Instagram, the pop superstar informed fans that before he can move forward with new music he must focus on his well-being.

“Music is very important to me but Nothing comes before my family and my health,” he wrote. “I will come with a kick ass album ASAP, my swag is undeniable and my drive is indescribable his love is supernatural his grace is that reliable…. the top is where I reside period whether I make music or not the king said so. 👑 but I will come with a vengeance believe that.”

Bieber hasn’t released an album since 2015’s Purpose. Both he and Grande can be heard on Lil Dicky’s star-studded single “Earth,” which benefits environmental causes.
