Rae Sremmurd is not breaking up.
Earlier this year, Slim Jxmmi shocked fans when he tweeted that he was no longer part of the group. But it was just a false alarm. Despite the chatter, the duo has no plans to stop making music together. In fact, Jxmmi, along with Swae Lee, are moving ahead with their fourth album.
Speaking with ESSENCE, Swae confirmed that he and his brother are readying the follow-up to 2018’s SR3MM, in addition to crafting solo efforts. “As for Rae Sremmurd, we dropped three classic albums already; it’s time for the fourth,” he said. “The fans have been patient. It’s time to give them what they’ve been waiting for.”

In a 2018 interview with Hypebeast, Swae said the project would be titled SremmLife 4. “Me and Slim Jxmmi are coming together for another classic album, our fourth album. SremmLife 4 will come early next year,” he said.
Swae is also readying his solo project. “And I’m about to drop a solo album, composed of all original music,” he told ESSENCE, while Jxmmi will be “experimenting with new sounds” on his upcoming album.
After reports of a split surfaced in January, the official Rae Sremmurd Twitter account assured fans that the group was still together, tweeting, “Brothers gonna be brothers, it’s SREMMLIFE forever.”
Last May, the Mississippi duo released its triple album SR3MM consisting of Slim Jxmmi’s solo project Jxmtro, Swae Lee’s solo debut Swaecation, and a joint Rae Sremmurd album.
