R. Kelly has been charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Prosecutors charged the embattled singer in Cook County, Illinois, on Friday morning after a grand jury convened to investigate the alleged sex tape that attorney Michael Avenatti handed over to authorities.

Two women testified for the grand jury over the last week, including one who provided physical evidence. Nine of the 10 counts involve alleged victims ranging from 13 to 16 years old. There are a total of four alleged victims.

Earlier this month, a VHS tape was uncovered that allegedly shows Kelly having sex with a girl who refers to her body parts as 14 years old. It’s unclear when the tape was shot, but Avenatti said he was sure it fell within the Illinois statute of limitations.

According to TMZ, the tape was instrumental in leading to the charges. As many as a dozen accusers came forward to testify.

Cook County prosecutors were appearing before a judge Friday afternoon to sign off on an arrest warrant for Kelly, reports the Chicago Sun-Times. The singer reportedly plans to voluntarily turn himself into authorities tonight. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 8.
